If you only had one day to spend in Paris, this neighborhood is a really good option to start the day with. First you can grab a coffee in one of the Iconic bistros. You are going to need all of your energy to walk around Montmartre’s very steep streets. So first – Coffee! And don’t forget your sneakers.
After climbing up to Sacré-Coeur Basilica, stroll around the little streets leading to Place du Tertre, the famous square where you can have your portrait taken by a local French painter. You will find such fascinating characters there and feel like you’re on a set of a French movie.
If you have an affinity for cemeteries make sure to visit the Montmartre’s beautiful cemetery and say “Bonjour” to Francois Truffaut and friends. It is truly creepy but in a very charming way.
