Niccolo Pasqualetti
During Fashion Week young designers showcase their collections to buyers in different showrooms around the city. We accompanied Petite Meller, the iconic French pop singer, to visit some of the up-and-coming designer showrooms during Paris Fashion Week. Niccolo Pasqualetti is an Italian 28 yo designer, a Central Saint Martins graduate and Who Is On Next award winner. If I could define his brand in 3 words, they would be originality, quality and functionality. His cloths balance between these words really well, as well as a wide range of accessories like jewelry, bags, crochet hats and even shoes, that compliment the clothes in a smart way and add an unpredictable twist to the look .
Tokyo Fashion Award
Next we went to the Tokyo Fashion Award showroom. We met VIVIANO which is a Tokyo based brand. The clothes are a mix of tailored classic pieces with a whimsical twist to them, along side neon tulle dresses, baseball hats and denim trench inspired jackets. The fabric choices and combinations are very interesting and fresh and the overall vibe is joyful and fun. AKIKOAOKI is also Tokyo based brand designed by Akiko Aoki. After graduating Central Saint Martins and collecting fashion awards then launched their brand in 2015. The clothes are classic on one hand and original on the other, they have lightness and sophistication to them. There was also an impressive line of original shoe designs that really caught our attention. A mix of ballet shoe with sport’s shoe sole. I believe it will be a hit!
